Getting Started
Your CarFilm account is accessed in several ways - all equally important: our app, our browser extension, and our desktop site.
Downloading CarFilm
First, you’ll need to download the app for your phone - click here for Apple devices and here for Android devices.
Chrome Extension
Our browser extension allows CarFilm to integrate seamlessly with any CRM. As long as you’re using Chrome or Microsoft Edge (supported as of October 2021). From your desktop computer click here and follow the prompts after clicking “add to chrome” in the top right corner. Even if you’re using Edge, you’ll still click the “add to chrome” prompt.
NOTE: The browser extension is NOT supported on Safari, Firefox, Mozilla, etc. Please download Chrome or Edge if you aren’t currently using them.
Logging In
Once you’ve completed the two steps above it’s time to log in for the first time. Open the app on your phone and enter the username and password provided in your welcome email. Different phones and different platforms will prompt you at different times to allow Carfilm to access various things on your phone - your camera, your microphone, your push notifications, and possibly several others. It is very important to say “yes” or “allow” to all of these. If you don’t, Carfilm will not function properly.
NOTE: If you’re unable to log in, double-check the information in the welcome email and try again. If you’re still having issues, ask your manager for assistance or contact your CarFilm rep.
Personal Profile and Contact Information
Our final step for the initial setup is to verify and update your personal information, set your password, and lastly set your profile picture.
Click the “gear” in the top right corner of your phone’s screen. Scroll through and verify that your name, your email address, and your phone number are all correct and change them if they aren’t. Everyone you send a CarFilm to will see this information so it is important that you verify it and update it if needed. Finally, change your password to something that you’ll remember and click save. When you’re done, the profile at the top of the screen should look something like this:
To set your photo, click the grayed-out circle in the center top of your screen and choose to either take a photo or upload an existing one. Again, keep in mind that anyone you send a CarFilm to will see your photo, so put your best face forward.
NOTE: If your “Location” is incorrect please let your manager know ASAP so they can contact your CarFilm representative or trainer.
Desktop and CRM Log In
Your mobile application set up is complete - the last step is to log into the Chrome extension on your desktop computer. Click the Carfilm icon in the top right of your screen - it will likely be close to the URL address bar. It should pop down and give you a place to enter your username along with the password that you set earlier. Enter that information, click “log in” and you’re done!
Congratulations! Your CarFilm account is active and your profile is set up. Please head back to the “Getting Started” section and choose the next step depending on your role and department. Things are a little different depending on whether you’re in sales or service, or if you’re part of the management team. Click here to return to the Getting Started guide.
